Horton Parish Council is pleased to announce the completion of the purchase of Horton Playing Field. A key ambition of the Parish Council for several years, significant effort has been put in to both the purchase of the fields and the subsequent work to obtain grants for the necessary drainage and improvement works.
The drainage work will ensure that the field is in an excellent condition to be used as a rural leisure facility for years to come.
The Parish Council is extremely grateful to have obtained grants to fully cover the cost of the works from a number of sources including primary funders of National Lottery Community Fund, Staffordshire Moorlands District Council’s UKSPF Community Infrastructure Grant and Rudyard and District War Memorial Institute Trust. A smaller grant has also been received from Connect Fibre.
This project is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
