- Horton Playing Fields Improvement Works Well UnderwayHorton Parish Council is pleased to announce the completion of the purchase of Horton Playing Field. A key ambition of the Parish Council for several years, significant effort has been put in to both the purchase of the fields and the subsequent work to obtain grants for the necessary drainage and improvement works. The drainage work will ensure that the field is in an excellent condition to be used as a rural leisure facility for years to come. - Hedge Cutting, Rudyard – 13/11/2025As previously advised by post to affected residents, Horton Parish Council have arranged for a suitable contractor to carry out hedge cutting work to Dunwood Lane and Station Bank at Rudyard, in the interests of highway safety. Weather permitting, we can now confirm that this work will take place between 10:00 and 12:00 on Thursday 13th November 2025. Any disruption will be kept to a minimum and we apologise in advance for any temporary inconvenience caused. We appreciate your support whilst we complete this important work.
- Full fibre broadband in RudyardThe Parish has been asked to raise awareness in the community of this service and was notified that over 80 premises have recently been enabled with Full Fibre broadband as part of the Rudyard exchange scheme. The premises in question are located in ST13 8RN, 8UX, 8RL, 8RW, 8RP and 8XB postcodes. Please Note: Not all premises in these postcodes are enabled, however suppliers will continue to build the network over the coming weeks and months. - Fitness Equipment Installed at Horton Playing FieldsWe are pleased to announce that the installation of new outdoor fitness equipment at Horton Playing Fields has now been completed. Take a look at the photos below and why not visit the Horton Playing Field and give it a go on your own or with friends. The equipment is suitable for both adults and children and is great for socialising or working out alone. This project is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
